Dennis Schumpert Byrd, 50, of Newberry, died Thursday, June 7, 2012 at her residence.

Funeral services were conducted at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 10, 2012, at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Timothy A. Erskine.

Interment was in Rosemont Cemetery.

Visitation was on Saturday from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry.

She was born on April 17, 1962 in Newberry, a daughter of Margaret “Peggy" Hutchinson Schumpert and the late Robert “Bob” Dennis Schumpert. 

Dennis attended the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, and will be remembered as a loving mother and someone who loved all of her family.  She especially enjoyed nature and her time spent in the outdoors.

Surviving in addition to her mother of Newberry are her fiancée, Dan Williams of Newberry; her daughter, Kelsey A. Byrd of Newberry ; son, Austin Byrd, of Newberry; grandson, Dainton Byrd, and a granddaughter that is expected in the fall; sisters, Susan Schumpert, and Lucia (Randall) Renwick, both of Newberry; brothers, Young (Cindy) Schumpert, and Claude (Missy) Schumpert, both of Prosperity; aunt, Mary Sue Clary of Newberry and many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
