Sandra Wood Hightower, 63, of Chapin, SC joined her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 peacefully at her home.

Graveside funeral services were conducted at Elmwood Memorial Park at 11:00 AM Friday, June 29, 2012 by the Rev. Stuart Pritchett.

Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, at Whitaker Funeral Home, Chapin.

Mrs. Hightower was born February 26, 1949 in Sumter County, a daughter of the late Carswell and Mozelle Winkles Wood.

Sandra loved being around her family and is survived by her daughters, Sherrie (David) Jacques of Chapin and Kimberly Brettelle (Jimmy) Frick of Lexington; brother, Jimmy (Michelle) Wood of Louisiana; and grandchildren, Tyler Mathis, Chandler Jacques, Matthew Jacques, River Mathis, and Riley Behr Frick.  She was predeceased by her husband, Owen Riley Hightower.
