Gracie Nell Whitfield West, 80, of Prosperity died Thursday, June 28, 2018 at her residence. Born on January 22, 1938 in Milton, FL, she was a daughter of the late Lucius and Eva Mae Land Whitfield. She was a member of Corinth Lutheran Church. Mrs. West enjoyed sewing, cooking, canning, word searches and puzzles. She was a well-traveled woman, as well as a devoted mom and Granny. She is survived by her daughter, Eva Annette Brown (Clifford) of Prosperity; son, Kenneth A. West (Beverly) of Prosperity; grandsons, Jeffrey West (Julie Smith) and Justin West; and siblings, Verlon S. Whitfield of Milton, FL and Denna Lee Pitt of Miami, FL. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Jake William West and siblings, Mae Moore and Wayne Whitfield. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Newberry Memorial Gardens by Pastor Dennis Lear. The family will be at the home and will also receive friends following the service. The family thanks Joyce Gallman for her loving and exceptional care.
