J. Bryan Bozard 54 of Newberry died Sunday January 19 2014 at Wallace Thomson Hospital Union SC. Born on March 15 1959 he was a son of Dollie Davenport Bozard and the late J. Earl Bozard. Bryan was a graduate of Newberry College. He was listed on Whos Who of American High School Students for 1975-76 received the TKE Fraternity Alumni Award in 1984 and in 1990 was honored with the Outstanding Cub Master Award for 10 years of service. He operated Cedarwood Farms for a number of years winning the Newberry County Turkey Production award four different times. He was retired from the Department of Juvenile Justice and also worked as a real estate agent with Lane Properties Realty. He was a devoted member of St. Lukes Episcopal Church and an associate member of St. James Lutheran Church. In addition to his mother Dollie Bozard of Newberry he is survived by his sister Kay (Eddie) Honeycutt of Irmo; brother Doug (Beth) Bozard of Whitmire; and nieces and nephew Annie Bozard Jenny Honeycutt and Blake Honeycutt. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday January 21 2014 at St. James Lutheran Church by the Rev. Elizabeth Morgan and the Rev. Rodney Gunter. Interment was in St. James Lutheran Church cemetery. The family did receive friends at the church following the committal service.
