Agnes Templeton Armfield, 93, of Newberry died on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Springfield Place.
Born on October 14, 1922 in Laurens, SC, she was a daughter of the late Maxcy Hood Templeton and Mary Martin Templeton.
Mrs. Armfield was retired from Sun Printing Company of Newberry.
She was a longtime active member of Aveleigh Presbyterian Church, attending as long as health permitted, and had previously served as an Elder of the church.
She was married to the late Otto Franklin Armfield, Jr. and is survived by their children, Mary Ruth Andrews ( Rusty) of Mobile, Alabama, Carol A. Rawl (John) of Prosperity, SC, Steven F. Armfield (Teala) of Newberry, SC and J. Martin Armfield (Emily) of Atlanta, GA; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; siblings, Jack M. Templeton of Laurens, Betty T. Power of Clinton, Margaret Ann T. Hopkins of Augusta, Mary T. Hawkins of Conway, and Nancy T. Thompson of Augusta, and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Maxcy Hood Templeton, Virginia T. Lyon, R. Wayne Templeton, S. Frank Templeton.
The family will be at the home of Carol & John Rawl, 155 Brown Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Aveleigh Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Michell Van Metre. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary following the service with a private family burial in Newberry Memorial Gardens following visitation.
