Alice Danielsen Kinard age 79 and widow of Hubert Vernon Kinard went to meet her Savior on January 3 2010. Alice was born in Newberry to the late John T. Danielsen Sr. and the late Mary Enlow Danielsen on June 16 1930. An honor graduate of Newberry High School Mrs. Kinard was a summa cum laude graduate of Newberry College. She received both and MA and a MEd degree from Winthrop University. She has been listed in Who's Who Among American Women and Who's Who Among American Educators. Mrs. Kinard taught at Newberry Middle School and Newberry High School. From time to time she also taught at Newberry College Piedmont Technical College and as a substitute in Newberry County. Early in life Alice dedicated her life to Jesus Christ. She served Him in the three areas of her life that brought her much love joy and happiness; her churches her family and her students. She is survived by her two sons Daniel H. Kinard of Lexington and John L. (Zeolean Frick) Kinard of Greenwood; six grandchildren Chris Kinard Mary Elizabeth Kinard Hunter Kinard Vernon Kinard Abby Kinard and Gretchen Kinard; and a large number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two brothers J.T Jr. and Heyward Danielsen and three sisters Christina Danielsen Louise D. Senn and Blanche D. Kalloff. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer on Tuesday January 5 2010 at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Caldwell Day and the Reverend Floyd Sides did conduct the service. Interment was in Rosemont Cemetery. The family did receive friends 9:30 to 10:30 AM prior to the service at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. Pallbearers were Chris Kinard Vernon Kinard Alan Paysinger Norris Long P.K. Fuller Mike Hipp Clarence Shealy Jr. Bill Floyd Sam Baird and Bill Harvey. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Fesperman Sunday School Class of Redeemer and Women of the ELCA Circles.
