Allen Beeler 83 of 116 Smallwood Drive Chapin SC died Sunday January 2 2011 at Lexington Medical Center. Born on May 26 1927 in Lacona IA he was a son of the late Harry J. and Margaret Landes Beeler. Mr. Beeler was a Navy veteran of World War II and worked for 37 years with U.S. Steel. He was a loyal Chicago Bears fan. Mr. Beeler was a genuinely honest man a true role model for his family and had a sense of humor that kept the family laughing throughout his lifetime. He is survived by daughter Cindy (Randy) Shirey of Chapin SC; son Mark (Christine) Beeler of Spartanburg SC; sisters Margaret Peggy Manjarrez of Hobart IN Mariane Regan of CA Dr. Barbara Beeler of Indianapolis IN and Sharon Redmond of Porter IN; grandchildren Danielle Matthew and Elizabeth; great-grandchild Hayden; and a brother-in-law Everett John Hoover of Danville IL. He was predeceased by his wife Mae Hoover Beeler; sister Janice Frye; and brothers Don Beeler and Carl Beeler. Graveside funeral services with military honors were held on Saturday January 22 at 2 P.M. at Bush River Memorial Gardens.
