Lillie Amanda Vaughn Kunkle 86 of Prosperity died Saturday August 22 2015 at Springfield Place. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at St. Lukes Lutheran Church conducted by the Rev. Jason Shafer. Interment will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will be at her residence 863 Fire Tower Rd. Prosperity SC. and will receive friends there. Memorials are suggested to St. Lukes Lutheran Church 4056 St. Luke's Church Road Prosperity SC 29127. Born on May 2 1929 she was a daughter of the late Herman Willie Vaughn Sr. and Beulah Morris Vaughn. She was the valedictorian of her graduating class at Stoney Hill High School and she retired from the Belk Department Store in Newberry. Mrs. Kunkle was a faithful member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church where she was very active as long as she was able. She was a very quiet and reserved person who loved and adored her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed her grandchildrens visits. Mrs. Kunkle is survived by her husband of 68 years Henry M. Kunkle Sr. sons; Henry M. Kunkle Jr. (Lucinda) of Prosperity and T. Willie Kunkle (Lynn) of Clemson; grandchildren; Matthew Kunkle Frank Kunkle Amanda Jean Kunkle and Kaitlin Kunkle. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her siblings Mildred Amick Doris Fulmer Bonnie Vaughn Herman Vaughn Jr. and Lester Vaughn.
