Ann Batson Shealy, 82, of Chapin died Saturday, February 22, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on December 1, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence L. and Beatrice Plock Batson.

After high school, she received her bachelor's degree and worked as Certified Public Accountant. She married Gene and built a wonderful family together.

Ann was a lifetime member of Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church, and taught Sunday School for a number of years.

She enjoyed reading, audio books, and listening to Elvis in his early years. She was strong, determined, and never met a stranger. Ann would give or do anything she could to help someone and her circle of friends was always growing.

Ann especially treasured her family and time shared together. She created rituals such as 3rd Sunday dinners, was always at the reunions, and found joy in traveling together – even road trips from NY to FL in an RV. She was most proud of Chris and Eddie and all they accomplished. She loved being MiMi to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ann loved to take care of everyone and will be missed by all.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, A. Eugene "Gene" Shealy; sons, Christopher "Chris" Shealy (Elizabeth Lowery), Santee, SC; George Edward "Eddie" Shealy, Joanna, SC ; grandson, CJ Shealy (Amber Shealy); granddaughter - Abby Ledford (Andrew); great-grandchildren, Riley and Ryan Shealy; brother, Joe Riddle; and sisters, Harriett Graham and Cookie Wallace.

Services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 2, 2025, by Rev. Ron Philabaum at Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service starting at 2:00 PM.
