Anna Long Bedenbaugh, 72, of Newberry, died August 29, 2024, at her residence.

Born on July 20, 1953, in Newberry, SC, she was the daughter of the late Homer F. Long and the late Nancy M. Nichols Long.

She was a member of Silverstreet Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the WELCA and the church secretary.

Anna was a well-known and adored Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade school teacher for the Newberry County School District. Over the course of her teaching career, she touched the lives of many students. After retiring from the School District, she enjoyed working for American Greetings selling and providing holiday and seasonal greeting cards.

Anna was a kind and loving mother and held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. She was always so proud of her children and grandchildren and all their accomplishments. She cherished the times that the family spent together during family reunions, her family brought her the most enjoyment in her life. She will be missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Jill Pagano (Vince) of Chicago, IL and Becky McGlohorn (Dan) of Pomaria; grandchildren, Sam McGlohorn, Silvie Pagano and Vinne Pagano. She is also survived by her siblings, Nancy Shahid of Mt. Pleasant and Luther Long (Denise) of Newberry.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her granddaughter, Lilah Julia McGlohorn.

Graveside services will be conducted by Rev. John Stoudemeyer on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Silverstreet Lutheran Church, 120 Long Street, Silverstreet, SC 29145; or to a charity of one's choice in her memory.
