Anna Marguerite Heine Cureton 93 formerly of Baltimore MD died Saturday October 24 2015 at White Oak Manor Newberry SC A private family gathering will be held at a later date in Ocean City MD. Mrs. Cureton was born in Weissport PA a daughter of the late Jean Wilhelm Heine and Mitilda Boothe Heine. She was an avid reader of all types of literature her favorite being mystery novels. She loved music from classical to popular music by Frank Sinatra and Willie Nelson. For a woman who came from humble beginnings she loved to travel worldwide. She was a daughter of German immigrants who came to the US before WWI. She was a part of the greatest generationhardworking determined and tough but had a tender heart for her family. She was an excellent cook and was known worldwide for her baked goods. She loved everything related to the ocean; the water the beaches fishing all watercraft from canoes to ships and of course her husband the late Burnett Cureton ship engineer and sailor of all the world's oceans. A woman of unbound strength and fortitude she raised her children while her husband was deployed in the Merchant Marines. As a widow she cared for the elderly in her community in Havertown PA running errands for them and taking them for outings. When her own children were growing up she opened her home to the teens from the inner city who had never been outside of the city. They were known as the Sunshine Children. Her home was also open to foreign exchange students. All of this provided interesting and culturally diverse upbringing for own her children. She was the last surviving member of 13 siblings and will always be best known for her endless love and generosity that she shared with everyone. Mrs. Cureton is survived by her five children Burnette Steele Cureton; Timothy D. (Peggy) Cureton of Sewell NJ; Jean William (Leslie) Cureton of Westchester PA; Faith Amelia (Robert) Long of Whitmire SC and Barry Stephan (Margaret) Cureton of Baltimore MD; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
