Arthur Franklin Cochcroft, Jr. of West Columbia, passed away to be with our Lord on March 29, 2017. He was the son of Venira "Sal" Cochcroft Welborn, and stepfather, Joe H. Welborn and the late Arthur Franklin Cochcroft, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife, Roseann R. Cochcroft, sons, Jason A. Cochcroft (Michelle) and John F. Cochcroft, grandchildren, Whitney L. Cochcroft, Levi S. Cochcroft, and Etta P. Cochcroft, mother, Venira C. Welborn and stepfather, Joe H. Welborn of Newberry, brothers, Larry A (Nancy) Cochcroft, L. Barton (Kim) Cochcroft, sister, Sheryl (Ronnie) Cromer, sister-in-law, Veronica R. Burkett, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father and brother, Randall C. Cochcroft. He was a 1964 graduate of Newberry High School and a 1968 graduate of Clemson University where he obtained a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. He received a Masters Degree from the University of SC in Electrical Engineering and taught math at USC Engineering classes for several years in the late 1970's. Arthur served 4 years with the United States Navy with an official rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class. He was employed for 20 years by NCR where he obtained 4 patents, then Intel Corporation with 2 patents and Teradator USINF with 3 patents. Active pall bearers will be William (Bill) Peter, Eric Peter, Nick Peter, Drew Inman, Avery O'Toole, and Lori Kyzer. Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1717 Platt Springs Road, West Columbia, SC 29169. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
