Athena ONeal Boulware 55 of Columbia died Sunday December 21 2014 at her residence. The Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 PM Tuesday at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Chapin with visitation to follow from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Andrew J. Vollkommer at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Born on December 18 1959 in Columbia she was a daughter of Gloria Marre ONeal and the late Calvin W ONeal. She was an accomplished artist in oils in writing in photography and was owner of the Gold Magi Studio. A devoted Catholic who loved God she was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. She was a loving wife mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking the outdoors visiting the river and gardening. She often reached out to strangers and the down trodden many who never forgot her. In addition to her mother of West Columbia she is survived by her husband Alan Boulware; children Gabrielle Celeste Reed (Gene) Calvin King Boulware Derek Wolfe Boulware and Justin Blade Boulware all of Columbia; siblings Patrick ONeal (Cindy) of Batesburg-Leesville Sandy Taylor (Steven) of Lexington Goldyn Beckman (David) of Brisbane Australia and Shaun ONeal (Julie) of Gilbert; grandchildren who called her Babushka Geneviee Starr Reed and Seraphina Lang-Tai Reed; and her step-father Steven Mathers and her Skipperke dog. She was predeceased by a brother Jared ONeal. Honorary pallbearers will be Gretchen and Doug Mader Jane Mader Nora Mader George and Linda Hines Bill and Rosemary Malinowski James Cleary Richard Melendez and Adam Feliz.
