Atlee Davis Lindsay, 99, of Newbery, died Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home. Mrs. Lindsay was born on December 10, 1918 in Newberry, a daughter of the late Isaac S. and Jessie Miller Davis. She was married to the late John Benjamin Lindsay for 72 years, 1 month and 20 days. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. Atlee was the epitome of a gracious lady, kind and courteous to all she knew and met and with sincere humility in every aspect of life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and is survived by her son, J. B. "Johnny" Lindsay, II and wife, Kathy Epting Lindsay of Newberry; grandchildren; Suzy and Randy Fowler, Jack Grainger, Benji Lindsay, Ryan and Shannon Lindsay, and Robin and Allan Vance; and great-grandchildren, Hunter Fowler, Jennifer, Kayla and Atlee Grainger, Emma and Ben Lindsay, Grace Lindsay, Amelia and Weston Vance. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Molly Davis Lindsay; sisters, Lucille Davis, Helen Darby and Clara Ridout; and brothers, Aubrey Davis, Pearce Davis, Bill Davis and Jack Davis. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer conducted by the Rev. Matthew Titus. The family will be at the residence of Johnny and Kathy Lindsay and will also receive friends from 9:45 until 10:45 AM on Friday in the Family Life Center at the church.
