Obituary

Azilee Amick Hawkins 94 widow of Lawrence Hawkins died Thursday September 1 2005 at White Oak Manor.Mrs. Hawkins was born February 26 1911 in Lexington County a daughter of the late Bennett L. and Lizzie Fulmer Amick. She was a retired employee of Prosperity Manufacturing Company. She was the oldest living member of Faith Lutheran Church the Adult Sunday School Class and the Leisure Club of Faith Lutheran Church. Mrs. Hawkins is survived by four daughters and two son-in-laws Dorothy H. Havird Kathren and James Lee Mills and Mary H. and Mickey Haltiwanger all of Newberry and Ann H. Metts of Prosperity; a son and daughter-in-law James L. and Elaine S. Hawkins of Newberry; a sister Bertie A. Hawkins of Prosperity a brother Bonniest Amick of Prosperity; 13 grandchildren 26 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was predeceased by a grandson Randy Haltiwanger and two son-in-laws Edwin D. Havird and Glenn Metts.Funeral services were conducted 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Whitaker Funeral Home by Rev. Charles Aurand and Rev. Floyd Sides. Interment was in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the home of Dorothy Havird 2312 Mayes Ave. Newberry and will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Saturday at Whitaker Funeral Home.Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church 1505 Wilson Rd. Newberry S.
