B. Edward Eddy Long 69 of Island Ford Rd Silverstreet died Friday. He was born on March 30 1944 in Newberry a son of the late William E. Bill and Frances Bowers Long. Mr. Long was a member of Silverstreet Lutheran Church and the Silverstreet Lutheran Men in Mission. He is survived by his wife of 29 years Jessica Senn Long; children Amy Ruple (Robbie) of West Columbia and Corey Brazell (Holly) of Raleigh; grandchildren Landon and Logan Ruple; brother Jimmie Bowers (Sybil) of Silverstreet; and a niece Christie Long Brown of Columbia. He was predeceased by 2 brothers Johnny Long and Roy Long and a brother-in-law Tommy Gosnell. Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 PM Monday at the Silverstreet Lutheran Church by the Rev. Harry Crout. Burial did follow in the church cemetery. The visitation was from 2:00 to 3:30 PM Sunday at the Whitaker Funeral Home. Pallbearers were David Hentz Alan Senn Jr. Chris Davenport Jr. Mike Willingham Jay Piersol Nick Piersol and Josh Piersol. Honorary pallbearers were the Silverstreet Lutheran Men in Mission.
