Barbara Ann Beasley, 83, of Chapin died Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home. Born on October 14, 1938 in Dayton, OH, she was a daughter of the late Leroy A. Prestel and Wilma (Steiner) Prestel. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and had a very strong faith. She was caring and devoted to her family and friends. One of the most defining attributes of Barbara was that despite being blind physically, she saw the beauty in others and in the world around her each and every day. She loved life. Barbara made floral wreaths by touch as gifts to others and when she told someone "you are beautiful", it meant so much because she saw the person inside, not just what one can see with the eyes. She is survived by her daughters, Tonya Beasley of Chapin, and Terri Carlisle of Grove City, OH; grandchildren, Melissa Williams (Joe), John Carlisle (Hilary), Angela Taylor (Errich); Elizabeth Kretzmann (Logan); great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Sara, Wes, Keaton, Preston, Callie and Logan Jr.; great-great grandson, Liam. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Everett Beasley; sister, Donna Schneiber; and brother, Raymond Prestel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Dennis B. Willey at 1:30 PM Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, prior to the service Tuesday, at Whitaker Funeral Home, Chapin.
