Barbara C. Collette, 66, of Chapin, died Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Lexington Medical Center. She was born on December 31, 1949 in Boston, MA, a daughter of the late Richard L. and Margaret Wall Collette. Barbara enjoyed antiques and was the owner of her shop, Heart and Hand Antiques. She was a certified Master Gardner in Arizona, New Mexico, and South Carolina and a certified entomologist. She was a member of the Timberlake Book Club, the American Hemerocallis Society and an award winning amateur photographer. Along with her husband, she enjoyed restoring numerous old homes over the years. She is survived by her husband, Scott Macfarland: sisters, Martha A. Collette (Theodore Heron) of Beverly, MA and Elizabeth L. Clauss (Edward Clauss) of Chapin, SC; brother, Richard Collette of Wakefield, MA; and a number of nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Chapin. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday, August 25 at the funeral home.
