Barbara Miller, 84, of Prosperity, SC, died on June 6, 2024 at Heritage at Lowman, Chapin.

Born on December 17, 1939, in Brevard, NC, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Excell and Alma Elizabeth (Price) Lothery.

Barbara attended college at Furman University and married her late husband in 1959. Barbara was a homemaker and stayed very active with her family and her community. They moved to Prosperity from Greenville in 1999, and Barbara became a member of the Newberry Newcomers Club where she previously served as President.

Barbara was very in touch with her creativity and enjoyed multiple hobbies. She loved flowers and always had a huge flower garden. She enjoyed arranging her flowers and also loved cooking and entertaining. She was a very talented artist and expressed her gift through the use of numerous mediums. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she always decked the house with decorations. Barbara had an eye for creating.

Barbara is survived by her son, John M. Miller, Prosperity, SC; brother, Hugh (Terri) Lothery, San Antonio, TX; and nephew Sean (Adrian) Lothery, Dallas, TX.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maury E. "Red" Miller, and two daughters, Elizabeth Drake Miller and Melissa "Missy" Brooks Miller.
