Bernice McMichael Cousins 100 of 1130 Douglas St. Newberry widow of Ira T. Cousins died Thursday February 05 2004 at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Cousins was born on January 16 1904 in Jackson GA a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Virgie Maddox McMichael. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. She was a founding member of the Town and Country Garden Club. She is survived by three daughters Jo Ann Cousins of Newberry Virginia Cousins McMath of Stafford VA and Betty Cousins Campbell of Fitzgerald GA; two sons Warren R. Cousins of Newberry and Walter B. Cousins of Irmo; five sisters Ruth Hopkins of Jacksonville FL and Evelyn Nix Elizabeth McMichael Helen Ham and Gwendolyn Morris all of Jackson GA; one brother Warren McMichael of Jacksonville FL; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson and four sisters. Funeral services for Bernice M. Cousins will be conducted at 2:00 P. M. Sunday at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer by the Rev. Steven Counts. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M.
