Bessie Beck Wicker 82 formerly of Dave Dr. Newberry widow of James R. Wicker died Sunday November 2 2003 at the Saluda Nursing Center. Mrs. Wicker was born on February 10 1921 in Saluda County a daughter of the late Richard and Sally Bledsoe Beck. She was a retired employee of Kendall Co. Oakland Plant and she was a member of the Faith Assembly of God. Mrs. Wicker is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Donnie R. and Mary Beck of Newberry; two grandchildren Christa Beck Sutton and Craig Temples both of Newberry; and one great grandson Jay Sutton of Newberry. Funeral services Bessie Beck Wicker will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Faith Assembly of God by the Rev. Sanford Jones. Interment will be in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. Tuesday at the Whitaker Funeral Home and the family will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Beck383 Hill Trace Road Newberry. Memorial may be made to the Faith Assembly of God 798 Fair St. Newberry SC 29108. Active pallbearers will be David Whitman Terry Beck Clark Beck Steve Taylor George Taylor and James A. Lindler.
