Bethany Heil Scott, 52, of Newberry, died Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Palmetto Health Richland. Born on July 27, 1964 in Toledo, OH, she was a daughter of Al and Lea Heil of Newberry. Mrs. Scott was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church. She was a loving and nurturing mother that enjoyed making crafts and spending time with her grandchildren. Her daughters will remember her most by her outgoing personality, contagious smile, and the ability to always be herself. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her children, Rachel Scott (Johnathan Ortega) and Rebeca Beach, both of Newberry; grandchildren, Jaysic and Jaxtyn Ortega; siblings, Richard Heil (Cynthia), Monica Rohan (Peter), and A.J. Heil (Tammy) all of GA; numerous nieces and nephews; "adopted" daughter, Ashleigh Cockrell; and special friends, Tony Maddalena and Wonzetta Gallman. She was predeceased by a sister, Tracey Heil. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 9:30 until 10:30 AM at St. Mark's Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 31, 2016 at St. Mark's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to Whitaker Funeral Home, 1704 College Street, Newberry, SC 29108. Honorary pallbearers will be Philip Cockrell, Ashleigh Cockrell, Alexis Cockrell, Sally Crossland, Chelsea Acs, and Melodi Ellis.
