Betty Ann Clary Byrd, 93, born March 22, 1932, passed October 2, 2025. Widowed to Willard Byrd of Denmark, SC who died August 11, 2022.

She was the oldest child of the late Johnson Hagood Clary and Harriette Harrell Clary. She has four surviving sons: Willard Dean(Carmen), Charles Johnson, Darren Monroe(Denise) and Todd Kelsey(Karan). There are ten beautiful grandchildren with sixteen and counting great-grandchildren.

Betty Ann was a member of the First Baptist Church in Denmark, SC. Her last home before moving to assisted living was located in the Holman's Bridge Community outside of Denmark, SC on the South Edisto River. Betty was known to be a lover of the joys of southern life. She collected antiques, was an avid crocheter, danced the Jitterbug, dabbled in poetry, and always the jokester. Together with her loving husband and family they built and upgraded four beautiful homes, and lived in eight small southern towns. They were mainly in South Carolina, but also included Florida and North Carolina. Betty Ann once owned and operated a successful gift store, The Country Light, in Cheraw, SC with her best friend Nancy Young. She spent her last two and half years of her life living and entertaining the residents and staff of Shem Creek Health Center in Charleston, SC where she passed peacefully.
