IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty Brigman
Bradley
May 20, 1935 – May 10, 2023
Betty Ann Brigman Bradley was born in Newberry, SC on May 20, 1935 to Tom and Mary Brigman.
She grew up in Newberry and met her future husband Thomas "Stumpy" Bradley while in high school. They married on Sept 12, 1953. Betty and Stumpy entered the US Air Force life after he graduated college. Betty raised two children, Martha Sheryll (Sept 14, 1955, Laredo, TX) and Michael Steven (May 14, 1959, Newberry, SC) while moving nearly every year, from Presque Isle, Maine, to Sacramento, California, and many places in between.
Betty provided a home wherever the family moved. Her children most remember her even temperament and humor, though she could discipline when needed (the great Chatty Kathy affair). Even when Stumpy was overseas serving, Betty was a constant in her children's life.
Some of our favorite times were traveling as a family, eating ham and cheese sandwiches and pork and beans at roadside picnic tables.
Betty served as Secretary for the Lutheran Women in South Carolina, and was an avid Mary Kay salesperson for many years.
Betty is survived by her two children; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Bradley; grandchildren, Margret and Sean Bradley; brother, Llloyd; sister, Maxine; and sisters-in-law, Sherry Brigman and Caroline Brigman. Her brother Reggie Brigman predeceased her.
