Betty Moore Jones, 85, of Prosperity, wife of the late Edgar David Jones, died September 22, 2018 at White Oak Manor in Newberry. Born on April 23, 1933 in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late Pinckney and Willie Mae Smith Moore. Mrs. Jones was retired from Allied Chemical and was a faithful member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Her favorite pastimes included traveling, crocheting, and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She is survived by her daughter, Sherrie Holland (Victor) of Prosperity; grandchildren, Jessica Milligan, Morgan Graham, Melissa Gentry, and Ian Stierwalt; great grandchildren, Finn and Banks Milligan and Zachary, Haleigh, and Taylor Cumbie; a daughter-in-law, Donna Jones of Kentucky; and sisters-in-law, Sylvia Moore of Prosperity and Bonnie Amick of Gilbert. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Daniel L. Jones, and brothers, Shelton and Joe Moore. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Jason Schafer.
