Betty Joyce Turner Wessels Benton 72 of Newberry died Thursday evening November 11 2010 at the Lexington Medical Center. Betty Joyce wife of the late William Bill Benton. was born in Newberry on October 28 1938 a daughter of the late Vera Turner and C. Dunaway Turner. She was a graduate of Newberry High School and Newberry College and was a member of ONeal St. United Methodist Church. Surviving are her daughter Rosalie King and husband Wayne of Guyton GA; son Fred Wessels of Tryon NC; and grandchildren Adam and Eric King. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday November 20 at ONeal St. United Methodist Church by the Rev. Richard Goldie. Memorial contributions are suggested to The Humane Society PO Box 397 Newberry SC 29108.
