Betty Slice Monts, 85, of Little Mountain died Friday, July 21, 2017 at Palmetto Health Richland. Born in Lexington County, she was the daughter of the late Henry G. and Sarah Sheely Slice. She retired from the S. C. Tax Commission and after her retirement, she worked many years with the Whitaker Funeral Home. Betty was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a kind person, who was quick witted and loved to tell a good story. Her family was very important to her. She is survived by her nieces, Connie Doberass of West Columbia and Pamela Dunbar of Irmo; nephews, John Wyman Monts (Anita) of Gaston, Donald B. Monts of West Columbia, and Kenneth Monts of Chapin; several cousins, several great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles W. Monts whom she enjoyed reminiscing about often. Betty was fond of her neighbors and grateful for them keeping check on her after the death of her husband, Charlie. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Chapin. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Tuesday in Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery by the Rev. Brett Collins. Pallbearers are Steve Trafton, Wayne Hollis, William Lane,Sr., Joshua Monts, Robert Barnes, Gene R.
