Betty Maria Taulbee, 62, of Prosperity, South Carolina, died September 22, 2023, at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, South Carolina. She was born January 13,1961, in Chicago, Illinois, she was a daughter to the late George Jones and the late Wanda Lee Reed Jones.
Betty was known as a fighter over the many years of her illness and gave all her love to her family and Lord and Savior. She was a Christian member of Calvary Chapel of Leeville. Betty loved her family and animals; her most enjoyment in life was being there for her kids and grandchildren. Often, she took enjoyment in simply being there for anyone she knew or met. She was most proud of her animals, the plants that she grew and kept and above all her family. In her past times, she would enjoy fishing.
Betty is survived by: her children, Larry Scott, Christopher Scott (Hannah), James Scott and Tiffany Scott; her grandchildren, Brittany Scott, Krishon Mathis, Ryan Scott, Aaliyah Mathis, Annie Scott, Camron Johnson, Skylar Saunders, Dillion Scott, Landon Scott, Jaden Johnson, Triston Scott, Iris Scott, Ashton Scott and Harper Scott; six great-grandchildren; her sisters, Patricia Kosciuch and Fannie Garner; brothers Michael Belt, Marcus Belt and Stevie Jones. She is also survived by her best friend, Sue Hendrix; a special daughter, Connie Conger; and her God-daughter, Leondra Marshall.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Roger Jones.
Funeral services will be conducted by the pastor Danny Kyzer on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry
