Obituary

Betty Jo Trimble, 98 years-old, of Chapin, South Carolina, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 in her home.

She was born on November 24, 1926 in Bivins, Texas to the late Henry Jackson Wright and Leone Ramsey Wright. She had six late siblings: Myrtle Irene Wright, Warren Ozelle Wright, James David Wright, Robert Ralph Wright, Fletcher Levelle Wright, and Maurine Wright.

Betty was the devoted wife of the late Leonard Greer Trimble to whom she was married for 62 years. She and Mr. Trimble were dedicated members of Broadway Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Betty lived her life guided by her unyielding faith in God and embodied Christian principles in every aspect of her life. In addition to working as a dentist's assistant, she enjoyed hand quilting blankets, reading, playing board games, working puzzles, and spending time with her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Betty had two daughters, the late Linda Trimble Segler (late Sam Segler) and surviving Glinda Joyce Van Dyke (Eddy). She also is survived by her four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Linda Segler's surviving daughters and their children are Breanna Lynette Foley (Pete); Breanna and Pete's children, Peter Samuel Foley, Sarah Faith Foley, and Kailie Hope Foley; Cassandra Michelle Koerner; and Cassandra's children, Olivia Breann Burton, Braedon David Koerner, and Keeley Ashlyn Koerner. Glinda Van Dyke's surviving children are Kirk Alan Van Dyke (Jodie) and Alison Len Van Dyke.

Twenty years ago, Betty moved to Chapin, South Carolina from Texas and was an active and cherished member of Chapin Community Christian Church.

The family would like to share their great appreciation for Mrs. Trimble's gentle and compassionate caregivers, Betty Hare and Lisa Gallman, and in thanksgiving and love for her many supportive nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at  Chapin Christian Community Church in Chapin, South Carolina and a graveside service in Fort Worth, Texas will be held at a later date and will be announced at that time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Chapin Community Christian Church in support of the children's Christian education (The Wave Children's Ministry) (https://chapinccc.org/children/).
