Betty Joyce Mundy Walker, 86, of Moncks Corner, died Sunday April 29, 2024 in Summerville, SC, surrounded by her family. Born January 3, 1938, in Newberry, SC she was a daughter of the late Earley Irvin James and Lucy Lee Cochran Mundy. She was the widow of Floyd Walker.

Betty was first-and-foremost focused on her family. Graduating Newberry College and later marrying Floyd, she made the center of her world her home and her family. She will be forever remembered for her straight-forward communication style, her incredible sense of humor, and her deep love and devotion for "Pop" and all of the kids in the family. She always made time for her favorite role of Grandma and in her later years, while living with her granddaughter Ella, enjoyed nothing more than time on the couch with her great granddaughter Bella, laughing and enjoying boiled peanuts. She is loved and missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Ella (Eddie) Needlans of Newberry, SC; Betty J. (Steven) Williamson of Ladson, SC, and Mary Margaret Harding of Summerville, SC; her grandchildren Christopher Walker, Stacey (Chris) Weathersbee, Wayne Dryden, Ella (Zachary) Bradshaw, David (Rachel) Bradshaw, JayJay Harding, Leanna Miller, Carly Needlans, and Anna Bella Needlans; nine great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 noon Monday, May 6, 2024 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry by Justin Baxley. A private interment will follow.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at 11:00 AM.
