"Bo" Coffey, 56, of Newberry, died Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Roper Hospital in Charleston.
Born on October 26, 1959 in Aiken, he was a son of the late Pat and Helen Tippman Coffey.
Bo was an avid fan of Newberry College and Clemson University Athletics. He enjoyed tailgating, meals, and riding in the golf cart with his brother, Jerry. Bo never met a stranger and was known for giving everyone a nickname and naming mascots of numerous colleges. He was employed at the Disabilities and Special Needs Workshop.
He lived with Jerry and Hunt Coffey and nephews James and Matthew. He is also survived by his siblings, John Pat Coffey and Tom Coffey (Terry) all of Rock Hill, Chris Angelos (Jimmy), Martin Coffey (Cathy), and Bridget Miller (Bryan) all of Aiken; brothers-in-law, Sonny Wooten and David Williams; sister-in-law, Jennifer Coffey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Mary Wooten, Patty Williams, and Tim Coffey.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 6:00 until 7:30 PM at the Whitaker Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at Wiles Chapel on the Newberry College Campus, Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 3:00 PM conducted by Father Jose-Hugo Ruiz-Marentes.
Interment will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Oscar Lovelace, John Paul Whitaker, Jimmie Coggins, Sheriff Lee Foster, Dave Davis, Gordon Johnson, Russell Triplett, and Shawn Page.
