Brenda Smith Wagnitz, 69, of Newberry, died on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at White Oak Manor in Newberry. She was born on January 30, 1951 in Indiana a daughter of the late Jim and Roberta Smith. The family relocated to Arkansas during Brenda's early years and she grew up in Searcy, AK. And was a graduate of Searcy High School class of 1969. Mrs. Wagnitz was a retired paralegal and enjoyed also being a homemaker. She was an active member of the Friends of the Library in Newberry. Brenda is survived by her husband of 22 years, Wesley F. Wagnitz and her stepdaughter, Genelle Wagnitz Penn and husband Terry of Loyalton, CA. In additional to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Bruce Smith. She had a deep affection for animals and in particular dogs. Her family requests that memorials be made to the Newberry County Human Society, PO Box 485, Newberry, SC 29108.
