C. Kay Hawkins Lindler, 82, Prosperity, died Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at White Oak Manor, Newberry, South Carolina.

Born in Newberry County on October 17, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Virgil and Lila Lake Hawkins.

Kay was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church where she attended with her late husband, Carl Ray Lindler. She was a devoted Christian, active in her service through committee work at church, and loyal to her church family and community.

Kay enjoyed fishing, especially with her family, and prepared the 'best fish fry anyone could ever have' with their catching's. She was admired for her cooking and her famous chicken dressing always brought rave reviews at holidays and special family events. While she enjoyed cooking, it was sharing meals and time with family that brought her the greatest joy.

She would give anyone the shirt off her back and was a nurturing support many. All that she did she did with love and kindness. Simply stated, Kay was a person who could do it all and above all else, she was a wonderful and supportive mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Kay is survived by her son, Gary Lindler (Susan); daughter, Cindy Derrick (Randy); grandchildren, Daniel Shaw, Justin McKean (Kayla), Dylan Derrick, Breanna Nicole Lindler and Stephanie Floyd; great-grandchildren, Thomas McKean, Kayleigh McKean Danny Shaw, Emma Grace Shaw, Wesley McKean and Sawyer Shaw.

Funeral services for Kay will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Prosperity, SC. Internment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry from 5:00 PM to 7:00PM, Saturday, February 15, 2025.
