Obituary

Callie Mae Wessinger 90 of Chapin wife of George Raymond Whitey Wessinger Sr. died Friday November 22 2013 at The Heritage at Lowman in White Rock. Mrs. Wessinger was born on April 12 1923 in Chapin a daughter of the late Preston Banks Lindler and Lola Monts Lindler. She was a member of Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church and was retired from GE/MEPCO. She found much joy in crocheting knitting and baking pound cakes winning many ribbons in the state fair. She also loved to grow roses and many other flowers. Mrs. Callie Mae was truly a devoted Christian. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children George Raymond Wessinger Jr. and Teressa Linda Fulmer and Johnny Glenn Wessinger and Martha Delbert Wessinger and Gloria Von Wessinger and Dianne and Loretta Griffin and Tom all of Chapin; grandchildren Scott Wessinger Ronnie and Chris Wessinger Steve and Lacey Wessinger Rusty and Marie Fulmer Mitchell and Bethany Fulmer Wesley and Betsy Fulmer Erin W. and Chris Yarbro Natalie Wessinger Lisa Wessinger Harrison Wessinger Callie Wessinger Thomas and Jennifer Griffin Spencer Griffin and Ashlyn G. and Keith Ancone; fifteen great grandchildren one great great grandchild; five nephews and two nieces. She was predeceased by brothers Fred Lindler and Ollie Ray Lindler and sisters Stella Lindler and Roberta Longshore. Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday November 24 at Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church in Chapin. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 AM Monday November 25 in Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church by the Rev. Ralph G. Hill and the Rev. Ginger Litman-Koon. Interment did follow in Mt. Horeb Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons Rusty Fulmer Scott Wessinger Thomas Griffin Harrison Wessinger Mitchell Fulmer Ronnie Wessinger Spencer Griffin Steve Wessinger and Wesley Fulmer. Honorary pallbearers were granddaughters Lisa Wessinger Callie Wessinger Ashlyn Ancone Erin Yarbro and Natalie Wessinger. Memorials are suggested to Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church 101 East Boundary Street Chapin SC 29036. The family expresses special thanks to the staff of Lowman Home and to Lutheran Hospice for their loving care of Mrs. Callie Mae; and to Generations for their years of care prior to the Lowman Home.
