Obituary

Carl Elwood McClure, a resident of Chapin, entered into eternal rest on October 28, 2023, at the age of 77. He was born on May 9, 1946, in Dayton, Tennessee, he was a son to the late James Vincent McClure and the late Georgia Bea Donelson McClure.

Carl proudly served his country and was a United States Navy veteran. Carl was a well-known and devoted Physical Education Teacher, and dedicated Coach for nearly thirty years. He taught at many South Carolina Public Schools, that include, Mid-Carolina, Chapin and Lexington Schools systems. After his devoted time in teaching, he worked as a Real Estate Agent in the Lexington area for twenty years.

In his past time, Carl often enjoyed boating, water skiing, kayaking and just about anything on the lake. He had a passion for old antique cars and the South Carolina Gamecocks. Carl also greatly enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family, hanging out with his grandchildren and attending family events.

Carl leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication. He is survived by his wife, Diane McClure; his sons, Chris McClure (Kim), Matthew McClure and Michael McClure; his stepsons, Jonathan Fisher and Ryan Fisher; his grandchildren, Grace McClure and Rollins McClure; his brothers, Jimmy McClure (Sandy) and Steve McClure (Gina); and his sister, Shelia Campbell.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by, his previous wife, Patricia McClure.

A drop in celebration of Carl's life will be held at his home, from 2:30 PM until 5:30 PM. Saturday afternoon, November 11, 2023, at his home, 172 Crystal Cove Ct, Chapin.
