Carleen Swindell Beard, 73, of Newberry, died Friday, July 19, 2019 at her residence on Nance Street. Carleen was born in Newberry on April 8, 1946, the daughter of the late Carlos Andrew Swindell and the late Ernestine Swindell Riddle. She grew up in Newberry graduating from Newberry High School. On July 19, 1964 she married Larry Beard who predeceased her. She and Larry would have celebrated their 55th anniversary on the day of her death. Carleen is survived by her children, Don Beard and B.J. of Newberry and Carla Beard Lindler and Paul of Chapin; grandchildren, Amanda Lindler, Andrew Lindler; Amber Beard, Andrew "Drew" Beard; great-grandchildren, Lia and Jaclyn Clark; a brother, James R. "Jimmy" Swindell and Nancy of Neptune Beach, FL and other loved relatives. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11:00 AM conducted by the rev.
