Carolyn "Roxane" Stuck, 57, of Prosperity, gained her angel wings after a long battle on Saturday, August 13, 2016 in Charleston. She was born to the late George Bobb Sligh and Vernelle Metts Sligh of Newberry on March 21, 1959.
Roxane was a former seamstress. She was baptized in 1976 at Saint John's Lutheran Church in Pomaria, along with her then infant daughter, Hope. She loved the Lord and was a proud and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed music, fishing, crocheting, cooking, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, James Stuck of Prosperity; daughters, Hope Dorn of Lexington and Jessica (Mike) Patterson of Whitmire; grandchildren, Cody Dorn and Katie Stuck; step-grandchildren, Michael, Teresa, and Jonah Patterson; brothers, Ronnie Sligh of Newberry; Rudy (Deena) Sligh of Pomaria, Todd Sligh of Greenville, and Lee Sligh of Newberry; sisters, Darlene Sligh of Saluda and Pamela Sligh of Newberry; many nieces and nephews that lovingly called her "Aunt Rocky"; and her beloved pooch, Farrah. She was predeceased by an infant brother, Elbert Russell Sligh.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Eddie Bledsoe. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 7:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Whitaker Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Brandon Watson, Remington Watson, Zachary Watson, Cody Dorn, Daniel Aldridge, John Clark, Michael Patterson, and Jonah Patterson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Sligh, Rudy Sligh, Lee Sligh, Todd Sligh, Bobby Burleson, Kenneth Seegers, and Mike Patterson.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Medical University of South Carolina, Foundation, 18 Bee Street, MSC 450 Charleston, SC 29425.
