Cedalia Fellers Stevens, 97, of Newberry, widow of James Earl Stevens, died June 4, 2024, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home. Born March 4, 1927, in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late John Pressley and Claudia Harmon Fellers. Mrs. Stevens was a lifelong member of Zion United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Lydia Fellowship Sunday School Class. She was the operator and the owner of Cline Street Beauty Shop for many years. She and her husband, Earl, operated Stevens Grocery on Boundary Street. Later, Cedalia and Earl, enjoyed having their own plant nursery on the corner of Highway 121 and Vincent Street, known to the family as "The Corner". Family was very important to Cedalia and she enjoyed family gatherings in which she spent time with the ones she loved.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard and Katie (Libby) Stevens, Robert Stevens, Johnny and Lisa Stevens, all of Newberry; five grandchildren, Richy (Sherry) Stevens, Stacy Stevens, Melissa S. (Jamie) Freeman, Brett Stevens, Zachary (Hilary) Stevens; nine great-grandchildren, Jonathan (Christina), Chelsey (Russell), Casey, Jessica, Logan, Tanner, Bristol, Easton, and Gavin; one great-great grandchild, Maddux, sister-in-law, Shirley (Clarence) Livingston, and three honorary family members, Trista Summer Baird, Alex Summer, and Adam Summer.

Cedalia was predeceased by siblings and their spouses; Lyon and Becky Fellers, Hugh and Edna Fellers, Richard Fellers, Phyllis and Fred Hicklin, Faye and Dwight Shealy, George and Jackie Fellers, and J.P. and Shirley Fellers.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Whitaker Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, June 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion United Methodist Church with Pastor Ralph T. Bowling, III, officiating. Burial will be at Rosemont Cemetery in Newberry.
