Charles "Chuck" E. Titus & Ann Mueller Titus

d. 2026

Summerfield, FL

Charles (Chuck) and Ann Titus died and entered the church triumphant in Summerfield, FL on April 10 and May 23, 2026.

Chuck was born in Lackawanna, New York on May 5, 1934. He was the son of Lester C. Titus and Florence Piersanti. Ann was born in Buffalo, NY on February 22, 1936. She was the daughter of Gerhard Mueller and Mildred Rotterman. Chuck was one of four children, while Ann was one of twelve brothers and sisters.

Chuck and Ann were married on January 31, 1953, and shared a full and loving life together for 73 years. Throughout their marriage, they lived in New York, Oklahoma, Texas, and Florida, traveling extensively and centering their lives around family. As Chuck would often say, “The Muellers are a big family, in more ways than one.” That large family surrounded them with love and care, and every gathering was filled with laughter, joy, presence, and memories that would last a lifetime.

Ann was known for her devotion to the two men in her life: her beloved husband, Chuck, and her beloved singer, Vic Damone. She helped start, maintain, and run the Official Vic Damone Fan Club for decades, helping fans across the country know where and when they could attend performances and shows—many of which she attended herself. Over time, her admiration for Vic Damone blossomed into a genuine friendship between the singer and his greatest fan. Vic and the Tituses shared many lovely dinners together at his home before his death in 2018. Her family lovingly joked that she was not only Vic’s number one fan, but possibly his only fan.

Chuck filled his life with providing for and loving his girl, Ann, and their two boys, Charles, Jr. (Chuck Jr.) and Don. From making sure Ann never “wanted” for anything to ensuring her car was always ready to go whenever she needed it, he faithfully cared for his family. He was the “gas fairy,” always making sure her car was topped off each day. Charles worked in the insurance industry, traveling throughout the country helping others care for themselves and their families. He also worked for Ferro Company for several years. He succeeded in all he did, which, as he would proudly say, was pretty decent for someone who never graduated from high school.

After retirement, Chuck and Ann began a small business creating art and pottery together. Ann crafted ceramic figures that decorated both her own home and the homes of others, with Christmas trees and nativity scenes being among her favorite specialties. Chuck created high-heat ceramic plates for home grills and for other industrial uses.

Their family remembers above all how much fun they were to be around. They brought life, laughter, and vibrancy to every gathering and every room they entered.

They also held a deep and abiding faith, making sure to share that good news with all they knew. Chuck and Ann were active in every church they belonged to throughout their lives. Some of Chuck’s fondest memories came from leading services for residents in retirement communities throughout the Summerfield area.

As much as Ann leaned on Chuck throughout their marriage, their roles gently reversed in later years as Chuck gradually lost his eyesight. Ann became the rock for him that he had always been for her. They went everywhere together because their love for one another remained so strong. Ann faithfully took Chuck to the pool, traveled with him to visit friends, accompanied him on golf cart rides throughout their neighborhood, and worshiped beside him every Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Together, they leaned faithfully on one another through every season of life.

They deeply loved their family and showed it through their presence, VHS tapes, phone calls, texts, cards, prayers, and countless other acts of love throughout their lives. Their many grandchildren fondly remember Christmas vacations at their home, and each lovingly treasures the collection of Christmas ornaments gifted on the day of their marriage – one ornament for every year since their birth.

In addition to their parents, Chuck and Ann were predeceased by five of Ann’s eleven siblings – Betty, Trudy, Dick, Bill, and Bud.

Surviving are their sons, Charles E. Titus, Jr. (Paula) of Crandall, TX, and Donald Richard Titus of Summerfield, FL. In addition to their sons, they are survived by an extensive family of brothers, sisters – Betty Jane, Mary Lou, Janet, Lorrie, Shirley, Louise, Ken, Cindy, and Norm, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. As the family has always said, there are simply too many to count.

Services for Ann Titus were held on May 9, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Summerfield. Services for Charles will be held on June 20, 2026, also at Trinity Lutheran Church, with a gathering of family and friends to follow.

Memories and condolences may be shared here on their tribute wall.
