Charles Stevens, 43, of Lexington, died Monday, May 23, 2016 at JF Hawkins Nursing Home.
Born on January 22, 1973 in Newberry, he was a son of Betty Singley Sligh and the late Larry Stevens.
Charles was a graduate of Newberry High School. He was a fan of all sports but particularly enjoyed watching baseball, auto racing, and wrestling. Charles was an avid fan of the University of South Carolina Athletics and enjoyed spending time in the local parks.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Sligh and step-father, Jerry A. Sligh, both of Pomaria; brother, C. David Stevens of Columbia; sister, Tracy Arrowood (Lloyd) of Prosperity; maternal grandmother, Edna Pauline Singley of Pomaria; niece, April Arrowood; and nephew, Joshua Arrowood.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, George D. Singley and paternal grandparents, Charles and Virginia Stevens.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Kevin McClendon and Mrs. Aletta McClendon. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 PM prior to the service at the Whitaker Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Lloyd Arrowood, Thomas Livingston, Jessie Stevens, Dan Chapman, Brian Sligh, and Kenny Bouknight.
