Charlotte Folkening, 78, peacefully left this world Tuesday, October 31, 2017 to join her loving husband Bobby Folkening. Charlotte was born in Virginia to the late Hurley and Louise Church. For the last 27 years, South Carolina has been her home with 25 of those spent at the Saluda River Resort. She was a retired RN and Activity Director from Pepper Hill Nursing Home in Aiken, South Carolina. Taking care of people was her life's purpose and mission. She lived to serve all people and animals in need. Her spunk and energy radiated around her. Her love and devotion will be missed by so many people. She is survived by four children, Carl Hresan, Tim Hresan, Mark Hresan, and Renee Gusti; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. A funeral service and visitation will be held Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel in Newberry, South Carolina.
