Obituary

Claude L. "Red" McCullough, Sr., 69, of Newberry, died Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Born on May 18, 1948 in Newberry, SC, he was a son of Guy McCullough and Frances Hendrix McCullough. He was the owner of Palmetto Custom Machine. Red was a member of Lewis United Methodist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and particularly enjoyed watching stock car racing. He was also a member of Bass Masters. Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Vernie Gunter McCullough of Newberry and son, Claude L. McCullough, Jr. of Newberry. He was predeceased by his father and his brother, Harold McCullough. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Counts. The family will greet at the church following the service. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, c/o Jennifer Rogers, PO Box 1741, Greenwood, SC 29648.
