Cornelia Clary Burr, 94 years old, of Gaithersburg, MD died Thursday, September 6, 2018 at her daughter's home in Olney, MD. Mrs. Burr was born on April 16, 1924, in Newberry, SC a daughter of the late Johnson Hagood Clary and Mamie Lucretia Strother Clary. The 10th of their 11 children. Mrs. Burr received her BS from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC and her Masters Degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. She is survived by her children, William Wesley Burr, III, Cornelia Ann Burr, George Strother Burr, Mamie Jean Burr Raoofi, Linda L Burr, and Scott Clary Burr; grandchildren, DeAna Ariola, Matthew Raoofi, Dean Raoofi, Deirdre Mundorf, Tanya Burr, William Raoofi, Gabriel Burr, and Chelsea Burr; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas Ariola, Grace Ariola, Lilian Mundorf, Yana Raoofi, and Leyla Raoofi. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. William Wesley Burr, Jr. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry, SC.
