Cornelia Suber Long, 95, widow of A. Pat Long, of Pomaria died Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.
Born on August 1, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Willie J. Suber, Sr. and Edna Leitzsey Suber.
Cornelia was a graduate of Newberry College and a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She served as secretary of Little Mountain Elementary School for many years. She loved her job, the students and staff, and was close friends with many people in the Little Mountain community.
Her hobbies were gardening, gardening, gardening and sharing the produce from the garden. She was an outstanding cook and homemaker. For more than 70 years, she hosted the multi-day annual "Aull Thanksgiving Reunion." Through the years, this reunion has been the highlight of the year for her, Pat, and their family. She also hosted other family reunions, always welcoming family and visitors into her home. Cornelia was calm and easy going. She will be remembered for her hospitality, her love and caring nature, and her smile as she welcomed each person into her kitchen.
She is survived by her daughters, Rita Boozer (John, III) and Alice Boozer (Wayne) both of Pomaria; grandchildren, John Boozer IV, Lee Boozer (Jennifer), Mark Boozer, Kevin Boozer (Alanna), and Andrew Boozer (Lindsay); great-grandchildren, Thomas, Adam, and Elizabeth Boozer and Elijah and Olivia Abrams; sister, Mathilde Smith; sister-in-law, Helen Suber; brother-in-law, Dan Sandel; numerous nieces and nephews; and members of the extended Aull family.
In addition to her parents and her husband of 54 years, she was predeceased by her sisters, Ethel Smith, Elizabeth Berley, and Marie Sandel and her brothers, Jacob Suber and Tommie Suber.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday, May 7, 2022 by the Rev. Gary Brandenburg at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery, Pomaria.
