Curtis L. Bowers Sr. 75 of 838 Misty Harbor Road Chapin died Wednesday March 3 2010 at his residence.Born in Newberry County on December 9 1934 he was a son of the late J. Evans and Bessie Bedenbaugh Bowers. He was a self employed auto mechanic and former owner of Beltline CITGO. He was also a former member of the SC National Guards. Mr. Bowers was an avid fisherman and a member of the BassMasters of South Carolina. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Curtis L. and Marie Bowers Jr. of Chapin John J. and Christine Bowers of Chapin and Leslie E. Bowers of Prosperity; grandchildren J. Michael Bowers Jennifer Michelle Bowers and Jacob E. Bowers; and one great grandson Matthew Bowers. He was predeceased by brothers Eugene Roy and David Bowers and sisters Florence Morris and Margaret Morris.Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel in Newberry.
