Curtis W. Hipp, Sr., 84, of Cayce, died January 16, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Hipp was born on July 20, 1934 in Newberry, the son of the late Curtis "C.C." and Lillie Cromer Hipp. He retired from State Farm Insurance after 30 years of service. He also retired from the S.C. National Guard with the rank of Colonel with over 36 years of service. Wesley is survived by a son, Craig W. Hipp of West Columbia, his dogs, Poncho, Trouble, and Cho-Cho; and his cats, Spot and Fluffy. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Jane Boozer Hipp and a son, Curtis "Curt" Hipp, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, January 28, 2019 in the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel in Newberry conducted by the Rev. Ben Herlong. Interment with military honors will be in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
