Cynthia Renee Bright, 56, of Newberry died Saturday, January 6, 2018 at her residence. Born on January 1, 1962 in Union, she was a daughter of the late Grover C. Bright, Sr. and Frances Shetley Bright. Ms. Bright enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling to the mountains, especially for Labor Day. She was a loving and caring woman, who put others before herself and always wanted everyone to be happy. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Simon (Amanda) of Newberry; daughter, Stacy Bright (Bernard) of Newberry; grandchildren, Shane L. Shackelford, Tyler L. Shackelford, Aliyah M. Bright, Kenneth L. Simon, Jr., and Alana R. Griffin; step-son, James Arrowood of Newberry; siblings, Barbara G. Gonzales and Joseph Bradley Bright (Felicia) all of Newberry and Grover C. Bright, Jr. of Clinton; nieces, Christy Felker of Newberry and Misty Redmond of York; nephews, Justin Simon, Ethan Bright, and Dylan Bright all of Newberry; numerous great-nieces and nephews; special friend, Jerry Arrowood of Newberry; and many special friends from Renfro. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Monday, January 8, 2018 at the Whitaker Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, January 8, 2018 at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Eddie Bledsoe. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Simon, Scott Gregory, Scott Gregory, Jr., Jason Silvers, Kevin Kirkman, Jr., and Craig Ruff.
