IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel
Weber
October 7, 1947 – August 12, 2025
Daniel Weber of Prosperity, SC, passed into the Lord's hands on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025 at the age of 77. A devoted family man, he is survived by Renee (Faup) Weber, his wife of 34 years, as well as six children (Michael, Leslie, Janine, Nicole, Brian, and Paul); eight grandchildren (Jocelyn, Victoria, Elizabeth, Caroline, Sarah, Paul Joseph, Sean, and Katy); one great-grandchild, William Andrew; and four siblings (William, Richard, Diane, and Lorraine). He is preceded in death by his parents, Alice (Janicello) Weber and William J. Weber, Sr., as well as his sister, Alice (Weber) Convery.
Dan was born in the Bronx, NY. As a teenager, he moved to West Nyack, NY, with his family. He graduated from Clarkstown High School. Soon afterward he began serving in the military, initially in the 1st Air Cavalry Division in Vietnam and later as a Drill Sergeant at Ft. Jackson, SC.
After returning home he continued his life of service, this time as a police officer in the town of Clarkstown, NY. That's when he met Renee, who was then a dispatcher for the Clarkstown Police Department. They married in 1991.
In 1994, after 20 years on the police force, Dan retired. He and Renee then moved to Prosperity, SC, where many family members also settled. There, Dan often enjoyed fishing as well as crafting custom designed lures and rods. He also enjoyed sharing puns--the sillier, the better--with anyone who would listen. He loved to make people laugh.
As Dan's faith in God grew deeper over time, he became active at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church. There he joined the men's club, consecrated himself to the Blessed Mother Mary, and made his Cursillo. Then became an altar server as well as Eucharistic minister. For the rest of his life, serving God and his parish gave him profound joy.
A funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on August 20, 2025 at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Chapin, SC. A Celebration of Life service will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Veterans Administration. Memories and messages may be posted to his tribute wall, and cards may be sent to Our Lady of the Lake Church in Chapin, SC.
Whitaker Funeral Home is honored to serve the Weber family.
