David Wayne Lucas, 59, of Newberry, died Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Lexington Medical Center. Born on January 10, 1959 in Columbia, he was a son of the late James H. "Jay" and Dolly Ann Jeffcoat Lucas. He was a lover of animals and was a big fan of movies. He was especially a huge fan of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. He had a huge respect for all life. David was a loving husband and a great father and will be missed. The world lost a great man. He is survived by his wife, Christine Lucas; two sons, Christopher W. Lucas and Michael D. Lucas, both of Newberry; siblings, Keith Lucas (Belenda) of New Jersey, Kenneth Lucas (Lynn), of Whitmire and Lloyd Lucas (Carol Ann) of Little Mountain; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved cats, Cesar and Joy. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, James W. Lucas.
