Donald Don Ashley Shealy 71 of Prosperity died Monday December 1 2014 at his residence. Born May 7 1943 in Newberry County he was a son of the late Ashley and Hazeline Enlow Shealy. Funeral services will be held at St. Philip's Lutheran Church at 3:00 PM on Thursday December 4 2014 with Rev. Terry Amick officiating. Burial will follow at Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday December 3 at Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry. He was a member of St. Philip's Lutheran Church and the St. Phillips Fire Department. He was a retired lineman from the Newberry Electric Cooperative. Don loved hunting and fishing. He spent much of his time in his shop making cookers for friends and was always available as the local handy man for anyone in the community who needed some help. Don is survived by his wife Patricia Pat Shealy Shealy; sons Brian Shealy (Amanda) and Michael Shealy both of Prosperity; a daughter Bridget Shealy of Prosperity; grandchildren Gracelyn Shealy and Sara Shealy; siblings Bertha McCartha and Miriam Bickley (ONeal) both of Chapin Patricia Huggin and Clifford Shealy (Muriel) both of Prosperity Brenda Smith of Lexington and Richard Shealy (Lynn) of Newberry. Pallbearers will be Phillip Sligh Corey Shealy Craig Huggin Craig Bedenbaugh Billy Pitts and Dean Wise. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of St. Phillips Fire Department.
